This is an important bibliographic testimony, as it preserves a treasure of photographic material about Santorini, by the well-known photographer, known for the historical photographic recording of the National Resistance, Spyros Meletzis. The Archive of Spyros Meletzis, which was utilized, included general photographs about Santorini and its reconstruction, but also about the excavation of Akrotiri, dated 1970, with excavator Professor Spyros Marinatos.

All this material, consisting of 524 photographs, which were divided into sections in this album, also includes photographs of the natural environment, with amazing details of the rocks in the area of ​​Vlychada, which were created, as works of art, by the intense geological events and the waves of the sea in the course of the centuries. Thus, the reader has the opportunity to admire the unique perspective of Spyros Meletzis, in all sections of the book and especially in the excavations, the mine, the reconstruction, but also in the surrounding atmosphere of the island.It should be noted that the photos presented in the edition are prints of the photographer himself, so the reader will notice the different shading and differences in the photos, which show the talent of the creator.
